Temple of Prosperity Slot Features
A 5x5 grid sits on a massive platform, flanked by two stone pillars and awards payouts whenever at least 6 matching symbols appear in view. The "scatter pays" mechanism doesn't require icons to form lines or clusters; they simply need to be present on the board to qualify for a win. Every winning set disappears and makes room for more symbols coming from above, potentially generating more hits. Regular prizes award from 0.4 to 3 times the bet for collections made of low-value royal characters and from 0.8 to 20 times for scoring on premium symbols represented by a fish and two dragons.
Coin & Prize Collection
Among standard symbols, there are also Coins and Prizes. Coins carry instant wins represented by a multiplier (between 1x and 10x) of the active bet. Prizes may contain one of four jackpots: Mini (25x), Minor (100x), Major (250x), or Grand (1,000x). Landing a Collector symbol awards all Coins and Prizes currently present on the grid.
Temple of Prosperity Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters activates the bonus game with 8, 13, or 18 free spins. The round starts with an x2 multiplier applied to all wins, whether from regular symbols or instant prizes. Collecting 5 Scatters increases that value to x3, and gathering 5 more advances to the final x5 value. Each stage progression also awards 5 extra spins.
It was probably just a matter of time until Play'n GO gives the "scatter pays" mechanism a shot, although it feels like they held off for quite a long time, given the hype for this winning format has been taking the industry by storm for a few years at the time of writing this review. Considering the studio's expertise and experience in creating captivating environments in connection to engaging mechanics, we expected something genuinely impressive. And yet, Temple of Prosperity doesn't explore any new territories or push the boundaries of slot mechanics. Aside from the "pays anywhere" model, the game includes a classic instant win collection feature with relatively modest values of up to x10 on a single coin. The jackpot prizes offering between x25 and x1,000 do feel appealing, but scoring them is naturally a rare occurrence. The bonus round pumps up the excitement by a notch or two, awarding a multiplier that can be further increased by collecting Scatters. Still, the entire configuration feels rather unimaginative and plain.
Visually, the Chinese scene feels quite traditional and predictable. A line-up of Asian-styled royals, a couple of dragons, and a Caishen character is a setup we've witnessed in literally hundreds of slots with similar themes. Not to say it's not a pleasant setting; it feels welcoming, positive, and natural. The overall artwork is also high-quality and refined, making the entire location a great place to hang around and relax.
