What would be a better solution than to incorporate the two in a follow-up to one of the most recognizable slots that was also one of the first to combine them? Welcome back to the Incan paradise, where favorite symbols and the friendly explorer bring along endless waves of excitement and a fantastic win potential of 20,000 times the bet.

Gonzo's Quest Megaways by Red Tiger - Online Slot Review
When checking out the sequel, the two main questions that spring to mind are "What has changed?" and "Is it better?". We all know the importance of keeping a similar vibe to the original and, at the same time, improving the experience with subtle but effective details. Did Red Tiger achieve that in Gonzo's Quest Megaways? Let's see.
The first contact is charming, even though we're again standing in front of the same ruins of an Incan temple decorated with intricate etchings and entangled with vines. The graphics quality has taken a giant leap here, as all the elements look much crispier and more vibrant. Some playful lighting effects are also noticeable and eagerly expose the primary view of the reels. There are a few more idle animations on the vegetation and the carvings, in addition to the endlessly flowing fountain waterfalls we've seen during Gonzo's first adventure. The hand of time doesn't seem to have affected the brave explorer as he looks exactly the same in his tall boots and eyes hidden under the helmet. He's got a few new moves, which you'll see during regular spinning and when you hit more significant wins.
The creators decided to abandon the unique sound of scoring a successful combination and changed it from a playful strum of an unknown string instrument to a more casino-like chime exploding into a coin burst. There's also more depth in the background music, especially when reels are in motion as the tempo increases and energetic drums start filling the atmosphere. It fits the new, improved visuals perfectly, adding plenty of excitement, as does the completely revamped mathematical profile enriched with a couple of fresh features.

How To Win On Gonzo's Quest Megaways Slot - Features & Mechanics
Megaways model should be pretty familiar for most players, but if you're not one of them, let's do a quick reminder. It's as straightforward as any other ways-based slot, with the difference being various amounts of symbols on every reel on each spin. However, to hit any regular win, you still need at least 3 matching symbols on neighboring columns starting from the leftmost one. The game is cascading, so every hit may lead to multiple drops, which plays nicely into the assisting features.
Multipliers
Each subsequent Avalanche (drop) within the same sequence increases the win multiplier. The default value at the beginning of every spin is X1, and it can rise to X2, X3, and X5. No surprises here if you've played the original Gonzo, as this mechanism hasn't changed.
Wilds
This is where things become interesting. Like in the original, the Wild can also substitute for the Free Fall symbol, which means it may greatly help trigger the bonus round. However, it's also a Sticky Wild that does not disappear after contributing to a win but stays in its position (or drops down) until the end of the sequence. We know what you may be thinking: if I land them on the second and third reel, I will win indefinitely! Don't think the creators would be so silly. Wilds are cleverly distributed on the reels, and during a single spin, you can hit one on reels 1 through 3 and another on 4 through 6.
Earthquake Feature
The ground may start shaking randomly on any spin. Hold on to your hat when it does because big wins are most likely super-close. The vibrations will break all visible low-paying symbols and add only high-paying or special ones on the next Avalanche. If you managed to land a Wild on reel 2 or 3 before it triggered, you're most likely a moment away from some sweet hits. It's also a frequent way of accessing the bonus round.
Gonzo's Quest Megaways Free Falls
You'll need 3 Free Fall symbols or 2 of them plus a Wild on consecutive reels starting from the leftmost one to trigger a game of 9 free spins. Each additional Free Fall icon in the combination awards 3 extra spins, so the maximum you can kick off with is 18. During the bonus, you can also retrigger them in the same way.
If you're familiar with the Free Falls in the original Gonzo's Quest, there won't be any surprises in this one. Identically, the multipliers grow from their base values to x3, x6, x9, and x15, creating opportunities for massive wins, especially if you hit a high combination of available ways and a Wild on one of the front reels.
Gonzo's Quest Megaways On Mobile
The slot's portable design presents itself beautifully, particularly in the portrait orientation, with the temple's stairs leading up to the reels from behind the UI and the characteristic stone wheel towering above the main view. Gonzo is not visible most of the time in this mode, but he jumps in from time to time to congratulate on a win or snatch a lonely coin from the ground. As with most slots, the landscape version is an exact copy of the desktop design.
Final Thoughts
Red Tiger established its reputation as a highly artistic studio from the beginning of their journey, so it was expected that Gonzo's Quest Megaways would offer stunning graphics. However, it's not only about the quality because, as mentioned before, a correct balance needs to be maintained when producing a sequel, especially when dealing with such a popular classic. Sprucing up the background, symbols, and the character with a whole new style could have easily ruined the feeling cherished by so many slot players. Therefore, we see many details that may not make much of a difference on their own, but when perceived as a whole, they create a much more vibrant and immersive environment. There are also more substantial additions, like two entirely new symbols, which the studio most likely needed to achieve the mathematical goals. Still, they fit right in between the others at the pay table, and there isn't the slightest impression of them being forced upon the design. Gonzo's Quest is a worthy sequel, and it's great that the Red Tiger team took on the challenge because of their leveled approach and impeccable artistic skills, which truly brought Gonzo back in a new, much more attractive light.
